Inferno guts shops and properties in Port Harcourt

Shops, goods and properties worth millions of naira were destroyed when fire broke out at Fruit Garden in Port Harcourt, River state.
The fire, which affected a section of the popular Fruit Garden Market in D-Line, razed shops with all the goods in them, causing irreparable loss to traders and Rivers state.
The fire started at 8.30pm on Thursday,
September 27, 2018, and spread before
firefighters could respond.
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike visited the scene and has reportedly pledged to rebuild the market and pay compensation to traders as soon as possible.
