Fire Safety: Minimizing candle fire risk

Careful handling of candle provides light for our use but careless handling of candle results in the loss of lives and destruction of property.

You can minimize candle fire risk by:

1. Keeping burning candles within your sight and extinguish them when out of sight
2. Avoid burning of candles near combustible items such as furniture items, window blinds, beddings, carpets, books, clothing materials, etc.
3. Keeping burning candles away from reach of children or where they can be knocked over
4. Placing burning candle ONLY on candle stands or holders specifically designed for burning of candles
5. Burning candle in well ventilated room
