DRIVER LICENCE COUNTERFEITER JAILED

A Lusaka man has been sent to jail for three years for possession of equipment for producing counterfeit driver licences.

Christopher Sinyangwe has also been fined 5,000 Kwacha each for producing two.counterfeit driver licences.

Mr. Sinyangwe has been convicted and jailed by Magistrate Amy Masoja, in the Lusaka Fast-Track court.

This is according to a statement availed to ZNBC News by Road Transport and Safety Agency -RTSA- Head of Public Relations, Fred Mubanga.

Facts before the court are that Mr. Sinyangwewas found in possession of an HP Central Processing Unit, a Gateway monitor and a printer HP desk jet 2130, instruments used for producing counterfeit driver licences.

In other counts, Mr. Sinyangweis, between September 1 and 24, 2018, believed to have produced 2 counterfeit driver licences, in the names of Chrispin Tembo and John Mudenda.
